Welcome to my portfolio where you can find instructional design projects I completed as a higher education professional. I will add more design samples as they are completed.
Sample Instructional Designs from proposal to implementation.
Recycle It Right, Rutherford County!

For IT570 Instructional Systems Design, I wrote a designed a learning tutorial for citizens of Rutherford County, Tennessee about recycling initiatives offered by the county and how citizens could effectively sort and recycle household items. My audience for this project were citizens aged 18-99. I was a solo designer and responsible for all creative and strategic choices. I chose Articulate Rise 360 as a platform so that any learner with access to a computer with an internet connection would be able to participate. I thought it was important to implement a narrative theme for the tutorial, so learners are guided through the instruction by “LISA” who offers insight and advice on recycling.

Recycle It Right, Rutherford County! Alternative Design
I designed an alternative version of Recycle it Right! for the Canvas learning management system. This design is similar to the Articulate Rise 360 version, but relies on a stricter step-by-step, compartmentalized progression, rather than linear scrolling. The “LISA” narrative theme is also incorporated as a guide to accompany learners through the instruction.

STRIDE: Student Training, Resources, & Instruction in Digital Education

I completed a summer practicum as a graduate student with Middle Tennessee State University’s online learning division, MTSU Online. I was assigned to design and create content for a training and orientation tutorial aimed at incoming and transfer students who were new users of MTSU’s learning management system, Desire2Learn (Brightspace).
My responsibilities included drafting a course blueprint, storyboarding topic progression and key content, developing learning and teaching activities and assessments, and both creating new content and refining existing materials. Under the supervision of a senior designer and subject matter expert, I also wrote scripts for, recorded, and edited video walkthroughs using TechSmith Camtasia and Adobe Premiere.
Video walkthroughs are available in the Informational Instructional Media section.
